On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the Regional Securities Exchange (BRVM) and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement was signed with the aim of strengthening the capacities of regional financial market players and facilitating the issuance of green, social and sustainable (ESG) bonds in WAEMU countries

The BRVM has published an information note according to which the partnership signed with GGGI will benefit the eight countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), in particular in the development of tailor-made awareness and training programs and on related opportunities and approaches & agrave; the issuance of sustainable and green bonds. According to the note, training programs will be offered to financial institutions, investors, investors, market participants and potential issuers to integrate sustainable financing practices into their businesses. GGGI Deputy CEO Kyung Nam Shin called for “fighting together for a greener, more resilient and more prosperous future
