The beginning of May 2024 was bearish for all activities on the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) market.

Indeed, at the end of the trading session on Thursday, May 2, 2024, the value of the transactions stood at 425.462 million FCFA compared to 1.326 billion FCFA previously. For its part, the market capitalization of the equity market amounted to 8,181.650 billion FCFA against 8,209.307 billion FCFA on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, i.e. a decrease of 27.657 billion FCFA. That of the bond market also recorded a decrease of 3.21 billion FCFA, to 10,273.513 billion FCFA against 10,276.723 billion FCFA the day before

.

A general decline is also noted concerning the indices. As a result, the BRVM Composite index fell by 0.34% to 219.92 points against 220.67 points the day before. For its part, the BRVM 30 index recorded a decrease of 0.40% to 110.40 points against 110.84 points previously. The BRVM Prestige index saw the smallest drop with 0.04% to 104.38 points against 104.42 points

the day before.

At the level of the Top 5 of the largest price increases, we find Servair Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire (plus 7.50% at 1,720 FCFA), SODECI Côte d'Ivoire (plus 7.44% to 4,695 FCFA), Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Électrice Côte d'Ivoire (plus 7.24% at 1,720 FCFA), SODECI Côte d'Ivoire (plus 7.44% to 1,630 FCFA), Onsen Atel Burkina Faso (plus 7.14% at 2,550 FCFA) and Total Côte d'Ivoire (plus 3.19% & agrave; 1 940 FCFA

).

As for the Flop 5 of the largest price drops, we find the titles BOA Burkina Faso (minus 10.96% to 6,500 FCFA), Palm Côte d'Ivoire (minus 7.46% to 6,700 FCFA), Total Senegal (minus 7.46% to 6,700 FCFA), Total Senegal (minus 7.38% to 2,260 FCFA), Uniwax Côte d'Ivoire (minus 6.93% to 470 FCFA) and ETI Togo (minus 5.56% at 17 FCFA).
