Le samedi 8 juin 2024 s' est tenue à Conakry, the ceremony for the delivery of 42 vehicles for the fourth General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH-4) to the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation

42 vehicles were donated to Guinea by the World Bank and the United Nations Population Fund. These vehicles were then handed over to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), which heads the RGPH-4. According to Makan Doumbouya, Director General of the INS and coordinator of the RGPH-4, these vehicles will be used to collect data for census mapping, which began on 11 March 2024. For this mission, 540 mapping agents and 180 team leaders were deployed across the country. The INS CEO emphasized that “for effective supervision, 45 supervisors are permanently mobilized in the field. On average, a supervisor is responsible for 4 team leaders and 12 mapping agents. Mobility is essential for these supervisors, as they must check the presence and performance of agents on a daily basis as well as the quality of the data collected. It is therefore crucial to equip them with appropriate means of transport.”
