On 13 June, Ivorian Customs launched the Border Cash Declaration System (SYDEF) in order to detect and prevent the cross-border physical transport of cash and effects with negotiable carriers.

Les Douane s Ivorian women are responsible for implementing and enforcing the legislative and regulatory provisions to which the movement of persons, goods, means of transport and capital in and out of Ivorian territory is subject. Indeed, they have developed an application called Border Cash Declaration System (SYDEF), a digital platform that allows them to participate in the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The 23rd session of the “Rendez-Vous des Douanes s” which took place last Thursday is based on the theme “fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction: launch of the Border Cash Reporting System (SYDEF)”. It was the occasion for the launch of the said platform.
