The International Monetary Fund recently published a report according to which the government of Côte d'Ivoire will finalize the process of recapitalising the Banque de l'Habitat de Côte d'Ivoire (BHCI) by the end of 2024.

The Banque de l'Habitat de Côte d'Ivoire plans to strengthen its social capital beyond the new regulatory requirements of 20 billion FCFA, and to position itself effectively on a mortgage market offering real potential. The Council of Ministers announced the validation of the principle of a recapitalization of 46.4 billion CFA francs ($77.2 million), since December 15, 2021. This recapitalization will allow BHCI to have sufficient capital to continue the growth of its activities that began in 2022.
