Le Director General of the Central Depositary/Bank of Settlement (DCBR) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), Birahim Diouf said Tuesday that the outlook is in line with its strategy of digitalization and interaction with investors and the ecosystem

The managing director said that “the prospects of DCBR are broadly in line with its strategy of digitalization and interaction with investors and the ecosystem.” Indeed, Birahim Diouf had a meeting with journalists in Dakar and explained that it was a question of better explaining the role of the Central Depositary in the financial market ecosystem and better understanding the challenges related to the regional financial market and the prospects for development. According to him, this “will allow final investors to be able to subscribe, to participate in the transactions that will take place on the primary market”. It “would make it possible to develop the base of local investors, since even those who do not have accounts will be able, through this platform, to open accounts with their intermediaries”.
