The Deputy Director General of the Financial Information Unit (UIF), António dos Santos reaffirmed last Thursday in the city of Uíge that the Angolan Executive remains committed to the prevention and fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The Deputy Director General of the Financial Information Unit (UIF) said that effectiveness in fighting these scourges is aimed at maintaining good cooperative relationships with international and regional organizations. It was at the opening of the workshop on the role of the UIF in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. According to him, the emphasis on training, under way in the country, is aimed at strengthening the technical training component, whose mission is to guarantee the integrity of the financial system, in the first place, and of the economic system in general.

With regard to the technical training of public and private sector personnel, António dos Santos affirmed that the more control there is over those who participate in the activity of preventing and combating financial crime and other related crimes, the better the results of all their action.
