The meetings of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors that took place on 25 July in Rio de Janeiro were an opportunity for an important meeting between Mauritanian representatives and key figures in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

On the sidelines of the meeting held last Thursday, participants discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the FATF, Mauritania and African Union bodies in crucial areas such as economic and financial governance, as well as the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. These are particularly relevant topics in the current global context where financial security and transparency are international priorities. The FATF plays a central role in defining standards and best practices. Through this meeting, Mauritania confirms its commitment to comply with the FATF recommendations and to implement effective measures to strengthen its financial regulatory system
