Le Président de la CEDEAO , Bola Tinubu also President of Nigeria urged member countries of the regional organization to go beyond rhetoric and focus on concrete actions aimed at: harmonize their “legal frameworks to fill the gaps exploited by corrupt individuals.” President Tinubu called for the full implementation of the Protocol of the ECOWAS contre la corruption . He said: “The task ahead of us is huge, but our collective determination is so important: by working together, sharing best practices and drawing on our diverse strengths, we can create a powerful barrier against corruption. in West Africa”. The Nigerian leader highlighted the dangers of corruption , saying that it remains “one of the most significant obstacles to progress and prosperity” of our nations.”
