Ivory Coast confirms its position as France's largest trading partner in the UEMOA, playing a major role in Franco-West African trade relationships.

L' French Development Agency (AFD) a indiqué dans sa publication que la Ivory Coast, in 2023, remains France's main customer within the UEMOA, absorbing 38% of French exports to this region, despite a slight decrease in 4.2% compared to 2022. French exports to Côte d'Ivoire amounted to 1.365 billion euros, confirming the country as the largest market for French products in the UEMOA, and the second largest in sub-Saharan Africa. French imports from Côte d'Ivoire amounted to 995 million euros in 2023, despite a fall of 5.4% compared to 2022. This drop is mainly due to the drastic reduction in crude oil imports, which fell to zero in 2023, compared to an exceptional level of 144 million euros the previous year. The country also stands out as France's main supplier within the UEMOA, representing 74% of French imports from

the region.
