On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the State of Mali obtained the sum of 25.083 billion FCFA on the WAEMU financial market. This was following its simultaneous issuance of an auction of 140-day treasury bills (BAT) and 3- and 5-year equivalent treasury bonds (OATs)

The State of Mali wants to meet the financing needs of its budget. The issuer had put an amount of 25 billion CFA francs up for auction. That of global tenders is 28.817 billion FCFA (exclusively on bonds and 3-year bonds), i.e. a coverage rate of the amount put out to auction of 115.27%. The amount of tenders accepted is 25.083 billion FCFA and that rejected at 3.734 billion FCFA. This corresponds to an absorption rate of 87.04%. The Mali Public Treasury intends to repay the vouchers issued on the first working day following the due date set on February 5, 2025. Interest will be paid in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the vouchers
