Casablanca: The stock market finishes trading lower

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed lower on Monday, with its main index, the MASI, down 0.38% to 14,048.66 points (pts).

The MASI 20, an index comprising the 20 most liquid stocks, fell 0.37% to 1,127.80 pts and the MASI ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating published by Moody's ESG Solutions, fell by 0.17% to 1,010.77 pts.

For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index measuring the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, dropped 0.59% to 1,344.41 pts.

On the international side, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid ended with respective losses of 0.44% at 13,215.46 pts and 0.43% at 11,742.48 pts.

On the sectoral level, the “Real Estate Participation and Promotion” index (-2.92%) recorded the largest decrease, followed by “Chemistry” (-2.35%) and “Health” (-1.38%).

Conversely, the “Engineering and Industrial Capital Goods” (+1.99%), “Distributors” (+1.64%) and “Pharmaceutical Industry” (+1.64%) and “Pharmaceutical Industry” (+1.03%) sectors posted the largest increases.

Exchanges reached 93.26 million dirhams (MDH), carried out entirely on the Central Market (Shares) and dominated by transactions in AdDoha (27.71 MDH), Sodep-Marsa Maroc (11.22 MDH) and Jet Contractors (10.27 MDH) and Jet Contractors (10.27 MDH).

The market capitalization exceeded 726.31 billion dirhams.

At individual values, the largest decreases were recorded by Promopharm (-5.95% to 1,012 DH), Cartier Saada (-4.72% to 34.11 DH), Jet Contractors (-4.72% to 34.11 DH), Jet Contractors (-4.26% to 1,100 DH), AdDoha (-3.60% to 32.10 DH) and SNEP (-2.53% to 46.10 DH) and SNEP (-2.53% to 46.10 DH) 9.95 DH).
