The Yaoundé Chamber of Commerce served as a framework on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 for a workshop to educate and raise awareness among subscribers on new digital fraud techniques. The workshop was organized by the Association Douze Millions de Consommateurs (ADMC), MTN Cameroon

Cette plateforme vise à protéger les abonnés de MTN Cameroun des dangers auxquels they are exposed by fraudsters/hackers. The attention of the participants was drawn on the one hand to the scam through the Mobile Money platform and the “fake SMS & calls” that pave the way for account piracy, and on the other hand to the careful attitude and the reflexes to verify authenticity that subscribers must have in all circumstances. According to Henri Moukoko, a specialist in analysis, investigation and fraud issues at MTN Cameroon, “beyond the technological security devices put in place by MTN, it is important that the end user is made aware of the prudent attitude to have when interacting on digital platforms.” According to him, the essential role and responsibility are devolved to the subscriber in the process of fighting digital fraud
