Fund transfers made by Moroccans Living Abroad (MRE) stood at 91.52 billion Dirhams (MMDH) at the end of September 2024, against 86.99 Bn MAD during the same period a year earlier, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

Fund transfers made by MREs reached MAD 91.52 billion in the first nine months of 2024, an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

This is what the Foreign Exchange Office says, which has published its latest statistics on foreign trade. These shipments are thus continuing their increase, which began several years ago. Compared to their level recorded at the end of September 2020 (50.41 billion MAD), they increased by more than 81%. In 2023, over the whole year, these transfers had already increased by 4%, exceeding 115 billion dinars.

This trend is expected to continue. According to Bank Al-Maghrib's projections presented last September, MRE transfers are expected to increase by around 3%, to reach 121.8 billion
