The Agency for the Management and Recovery of Criminal Assets (AGRAC) and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ) are organizing this week in Yamoussoukro a training workshop for around fifty magistrates of the Court of Appeal of Abidjan.

The training, which has been taking place since yesterday at the HP Resort in Yamoussoukro (former House of Parliamentarians), is divided into two sessions. The first ends today and the second is scheduled for November 13 and 14, 2024. This training module aims to strengthen the capacities of judicial actors in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT). The initiative is part of the project “Strengthening good governance for greater accountability, integrity and transparency in Côte d'Ivoire”. The main objective of this training is to provide judges with the knowledge and skills necessary to master the concepts related to money laundering, understand the relevant legal instruments, and effectively apply procedures for the seizure and confiscation of criminal assets
