On Friday, November 29, 2024, BGFIBank Senegal received AML 30000 certification, which is the international standard set up to certify systems to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

This distinction is granted to BGFIBank Senegal in Dakar, and is the culmination of the numerous efforts made as part of its compliance system. According to the managing director of BGFIBank Senegal, Khady Boye Hanne, obtaining this AML 30000 certification means that “the group, its subsidiaries in Senegal and Benin respect the highest international standards in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing”. For her, this certification now places them in line with international standards concerning the fight against “organized financial crime”, and also attests to the efforts made, within BGFIBank, to set up “strong procedures, very effective tools for the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism”. For his part, the managing director of BGFIBank Benin, Alexis Loueke said that this certification “crowns the work carried out by the various teams of BGFIBank Benin and BGFIBank Senegal”. Likewise, the representative of Coficert considers that this certification is intended for banks and all other taxable persons defined by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which is the international body that regulates the subject related to the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism
