Benin is now one of the African member states of the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity and the Protection of Personal Data.

The Ambassador of Benin to the Permanent Mission of Benin in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Hervé DJOKPE deposited the instruments of ratification of the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity and the Protection of Personal Data. This convention is “the African reference instrument for the development, on the one hand, of national legislation on cybersecurity, the fight against cybercrime and the protection of personal data and, on the other hand, the development of national policies and national strategies to combat cybercrime

”.
