Le treizième rapport annuel sur la supervision bancaire relatif à l' exercice 2023 récemment publié par l' autorité monétaire mentionne que l The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) imposed 1.95 million dinars in financial sanctions on Tunisian financial institutions and recovered by the Public Treasury in

2023.

Seven banks have been sanctioned. A first bank would have received a warning for shortcomings identified by a general inspection mission as well as a fine of 105,700 dinars for non-compliance with the exposure standard on related parties. The second was fined nearly 1.14 million dinars for non-compliance with the exposure standard on related parties. The third financial institution received a total of 23,800 dinars for non-compliance with the exposure standard on the same beneficiary and for non-compliance with the exposure standard on related parties. A fourth bank received a total of 375,800 dinars for non-compliance with the regulatory liquidity ratio (LCR) and non-compliance with the “credits/deposits” ratio (LTD). The fifth received 93,500 dinars for non-compliance with the regulatory liquidity ratio (LCR). The sixth and seventh bank receive 215,100 million dinars respectively for non-compliance with the regulatory liquidity ratio (LCR) and non-compliance with solvency standards and 600 dinars for non-compliance with the exposure standard on related

parties.

According to the report, the prudential supervision of banks and financial institutions is carried out on the basis of a methodological guide for internal supervision based on international best practices.
