As of November 30, nearly 90% of the area had been harvested, some 2,010,595 tons of processed cane and 206,887 tons of sugar produced, with an extraction rate of 10.29%. According to a press release from the Chamber of Agriculture, “a cane damaged in the preparation process has a negative impact on all of this production. Based on this data and after reviewing the production estimates shared by the millers, taking into account the impact of the lack of water for suitable irrigation, the lack of logistics and labor for optimal cutting, loading and transport, the Crop Estimate Coordinating Committee, during its 5th meeting held on December 3, reviewed for the third time the production estimate for this 2024 cut”.
