Lors du National Public Procurement Forum held on Wednesday 11 December last in Cotonou, an in-depth examination took place around the public procurement system in Benin.

The National Forum on Public Procurement focused on the theme “Effectiveness of the public procurement system in Benin: Assessment and perspectives”. The debates focus on the results of the reforms undertaken over the last four years and the prospects offered by the new law on public-private partnerships (PPP). The public procurement system in Benin is part of an era of profound transformation, driven by ambitious reforms and a quest for efficiency. The es main actors of public procurement in Benin, representatives of businesses and society civil authorities evaluated the performance of the current system, to identify persistent challenges and to map out the contours of a future based on transparency and efficiency. Two key elements marked the discussions. The imminent digitalization of the public procurement system and the entry into force of the new law on PPPs.
