The extraordinary session of heads of state was held on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This Session focused on the theme: “Assessment of the economic, monetary and financial situation and prospects of CEMAC: Measures to strengthen resilience”.

During their meeting, the Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to community solidarity in the face of shocks, through the pursuit of a coherent and coordinated regional strategy to preserve the viability of public finances, the stability of financial sector and to strengthen the external position of CEMAC; and welcomed the progress made in recent years in the implementation of economic and financial reforms. The conference urged member states to pursue orderly fiscal consolidation in the framework of bilateral discussions with technical and financial partners, as well as to regularly produce and disseminate reliable and comprehensive fiscal, economic and financial data for the purposes of multilateral surveillance, monetary and sectoral policies. The conference also reaffirmed the full application of Foreign Exchange Regulations, in particular through the diligent repatriation of currencies by economic operators, and more particularly the signing, before 30 April 2025, of receivership account agreements for site restoration funds (RES Funds) by extractive companies (oil and mining); invited the IMF, the World Bank and all other partners to supporting States and the Central Bank in the process of repatriating and domiciling oil revenues ; r style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, serif">it é r é l ' tats en faveur de l style="font-family: "Bookman Old Styleengagement des , serif">ind é financing and strengthening the capacities of é the Central Bank, the Banking Commission of the ' Central Africa and all other community institutions.
