The Burkinabe justice system has convicted four officials involved in the case of embezzlement of 3 billion CFA francs at the Ministry of Humanitarian Action.

Amidou Tiegnan is the main defendant. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined 5.64 billion CFA francs for embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment and falsification of official documents. Apart from him, Pétronille Tarpaga was sentenced to 11 years in prison and to a fine of 286.08 million CFA francs, with an immediate arrest warrant. While Salifou Ouedraogo received a sentence of 8 years in prison and a fine of 347.675 million CFA francs. Philippe Bayoulou was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of 126 million CFA francs. According to the court, the four officials had forged signatures and issued hundreds of fraudulent checks from the public treasury
