The Chadian company Sotcocog SA won the contract to rehabilitate the Moutourwa-Maroua road section (36 km) in Far North Cameroon, for an amount of 21.1 billion FCFA in partnership with Staport SA.

The project planned over a period of 15 months (1 year 3 months) is part of the Project for territorial planning and the promotion of the private sector in the Far North, financed jointly by the African Development Bank (ADB), the European Union (EU) and the government of Cameroon. In fact, during the international call for tenders launched in the first quarter of 2023 for the rehabilitation of the Moutourwa-Yagoua road (173.5 km), Sotcocog SA and its partners surpassed five other companies, including China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group Ltd and

the Samnya Nigeria Ltd/Union Entreprise and Wargala/Solvet Chad groupings.

It should be noted that in December 2022, Sotcocog SA won two lots for the rehabilitation of 77 km of dirt roads in the Far North, for a total amount of 6.6 billion FCFA. In February 2024, she was awarded the rehabilitation of the Mora-Tchakamari road (22 km) for an amount of 14.6 billion FCFA. This new award confirms the growing position of Sotcocog SA in the public works sector in the CEMAC sub-region
