Dans l' intention d' aider à solving crude supply problems, Nigeria's Dangote Refinery, serif">is currently building eight new oil storage tanks.

The new tanks are expected to increase the plant's storage capacity by 6.29 million barrels (1 million liters), an increase of approximately 41.67%, from 2.4 billion liters to 3.4 billion liters. The Dangote Refinery in Nigeria has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (bpd). Dangote currently operates 20 crude oil storage tanks with a combined capacity of 2.34 billion liters and recently started production of diesel and aviation fuel in January 2024 and gasoline in September

2024.

In reality, the Nigerian oil industry continues to suffer from underinvestment, crude oil theft, and pipeline vandalism. So Dangote's choice style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, serif">to expand its facilities and increase its use of imported crude should help alleviate these problems, just as the refinery is beginning to increase its gas production for local consumers.
