The second phase of the cash transfer program has started in Commune 1 of Maradi. It is intended to support households affected by the devastating floods of the 2024 rainy season

500 households have received financial assistance of 40,000 CFA francs since January 19 at Soly Tragris Dakoro, thus marking the start of this second phase. 1,500 households will benefit from this support in Maradi, each receiving for the second time this sum intended for cover the most urgent needs. In reality, the initiative, led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Niger and its partners, aims to mitigate the socio-economic impacts of natural disasters on vulnerable populations. These initiatives are part of a broader natural disaster response strategy aimed at providing rapid and effective assistance to affected communities.
