Viva Atlantic Limited and Technology House Limited, as well as their managing director and CEO, Norman Didam were sanctioned according to a statement issued by the World Bank on Monday. According to the Washington-based institution, the sanction came as a result of pratiques frauduleuses and corrupt discoveries linked to the National Social Safety Nets Project (NSSNP) in Nigeria.
The Bank reported that the Project to provide targeted financial assistance to poor and vulnerable households was compromised due to several unethical practices during a subsequent procurement and contracting process in 2018. From the facts alleged against the two companies, she inferred that these violations directly contravene the principles set out in the World Bank's anti-corruption framework, which motivated the
