In order to cover their cash flow needs and the financing of their economies, the 8 member states of the West African Monetary Union will mobilize a total of 10.700 billion Francs this year.

The information communicated on January 23 by Umoa-Titres, at the end of its major annual event at the beginning of the year called “Rencontres du Marché des Securities Publiques de l'Umoa”, in short REMTP, mentions that the public securities market of UMOA is going to break the record this year. Indeed, as in previous years, Côte d'Ivoire will raise the largest amount, which amounts to 3,700 billion CFA francs in resources on this market. Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger will follow suit, each with around 1 trillion to be raised

Benin will borrow on this market up to 590 billion CFA francs, Togo 481 billion and Guinea Bissau an envelope of 262 billion CFA francs. These amounts will be raised by auction, the method of issuing BAT and OATs most used by States and which is defined as a technique allowing the acquisition of resources through an auction system. 1 395 billion CFA francs will be mobilized by syndication. It should be noted that the 8 member states had mobilized 8127 billion CFA francs in financing in 2024
