Lors du Conseil des ministres du mercredi 29 janvier dernier, le President of the Republic asked the government to assess the impact of mining on local authorities located near mines, to improve relationships between mining companies and residents living near mines, and to create a national gold trading post

In the Council of Ministers press release, “the consideration by the State of the situation of populations living in mining areas is becoming a national priority. This is why the President of the Republic asked the ministers responsible for Mines, Local Authorities, Local Authorities, Finances, Economy and Environment to carry out [...] a national assessment of the economic, social and environmental impact of mining on the development of polarized localities”.

The government spokesperson referred to “the urgent need to take stock of the Fund to Support the Development of Local Authorities and the investments in basic social infrastructure resulting from the requirements of the Mining Code”. “He asked the government to work, within the framework of sovereignty over our resources, to set up the national gold trading center”, in order to “satisfy the strong demand of our jewelers,” the statement said
