Dans le cadre des efforts visant à résoudre la crise croissante de la pollution plastique au Ghana, cinq grands supermarchés du pays se sont engagés to reduce single-use plastics (SUP) by 50% by 2030.

Sneda Shopping Centre, Neha Supermarket, All Needs Supermarket, Decathlon Ghana and Green Butterfly Market have committed to a voluntary agreement. These companies decided to phase out SUP in collaboration with Plastic Punch, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. The initiative aims to promote sustainable business practices and contribute to Ghana's environmental sustainability goals. It was launched as part of the Circular project and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP). This Voluntary Pact aims to support businesses in their transition to sustainable alternatives while strengthening Ghana's commitment to a circular economy.

According to Richmond Quarcoo, director of Plastic Punch, “campaign will rely on public education to amplify messages around reducing SUPs to inspire wider adoption of sustainable practices.
