In Togo, as part of the next 2025-2026 agricultural season, the executive plans to provide producers with a quantity of 85,000 tons of fertilizer, reveals the “Citizen Budget” recently published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The announced allocation represents an increase of 9% compared to the 77,938 tons of fertilizer distributed during the previous campaign

According to the “Citizen Budget” of the Togolese Ministry of Economy and Finance, the State plans to provide agricultural producers with 85,000 tons of fertilizer for the 2025-2026 campaign. This is 9% more than the 77,938 tons distributed during the previous campaign

Special attention will be paid to the Savannah region, which is home to both significant agricultural needs and security challenges linked to border instability. According to the document consulted by TogoFirst, this area alone will receive 32,489 t, or nearly 40% of the volume

The regions of Kara and Plateaux will benefit respectively from 19,165 and 12,308 t, while Centrale and Maritime will receive 11,905 and 8,016 t. Grand Lomé, which is weakly agricultural and has a high urban density, will have 667 t.

This support reflects the commitment of the Togolese authorities to strengthen their support for the agricultural sector, a pillar of the national economy and a source of livelihood for a large part of the population. In addition to fertilizers, the program includes the distribution of food seeds, in order to guarantee producers access to improved, high-yielding varieties adapted to local climate
