18 June 2025.Chairing, on Tuesday, the opening of the 2nd Algerian-Korean Forum on Cybersecurity, Mr. Zerrouki said that Algeria “is committed to an ambitious digital transformation process, led by the generalization of high-speed fiber optic infrastructure and the reduction of the divide” digital technology and the preparation for the launch of 5G services”.
These efforts, he said, “are part of a proactive and sovereign national cybersecurity strategy, inspired by the enlightened vision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”
In this context, the minister welcomed “the level of partnership with the Republic of Korea, which is a leader in the fields of telecommunications and cybersecurity”, stressing the desire of the two countries to “develop concrete and fruitful cooperation in the areas of knowledge transfer, innovation and strengthening” operational capabilities.”
For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. You Ki-Jun, welcomed the strategy put in place by Algeria in terms of cybersecurity, as well as its commitment, since 2019, to develop related structures, as well as its commitment, since 2019, to develop related structures, stressing that his country was “ready to support and even be inspired by the experience” Algeria's emergency

This 2nd Algerian-Korean Cybersecurity Forum is part of the “dynamic and accelerated digital transformation process that our country is experiencing in recent years, and which requires strengthening security capabilities in cyberspace”.
This Forum embodies “a fruitful partnership between Algeria and the Republic of Korea, reflecting the common desire of the two countries to strengthen their cooperation through the exchange of expertise, capacity building and the monitoring of technological developments in the digital world”, the press release added.
The opening of this Forum, organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), took place in the presence of the High Commissioner for Digitalization with the rank of minister, Ms. Meriem Benmouloud, and officials from several bodies and institutions.
