Guibai Gatama, a member of the executive committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), announced on Monday, June 23, 2025, that he had filed a complaint against its president, Samuel Eto'o, before the body's ethics committee.

The president of the Cameroon Football Federation is accused of having had 455,000 euros paid by the Russian Football Federation deposited into a personal account as part of a friendly match between the Indomitable Lions and the Russian selection in 2023, so that this sum was intended for FECAFOOT. The procedure was entrusted to the Fecafoot ethics commission. The case concerns an alleged embezzlement of several hundred million CFA francs. Guibai Gatama, who filed the complaint, claims to have taken this decision following the recent release of internal financial documents at Fecafoot which reveal the behind the scenes of the payment to the institution of a sum of money negotiated with the Russian side during a friendly match between the national teams of the two countries, almost 2 years ago.
