World Environment Day 2025 brought together business leaders, environmental experts, and stakeholders to address the urgent challenge of plastic pollution and advocate for innovative solutions for a cleaner future.

According to local media, the bank has expanded its impact through awareness-raising actions in Lagos high schools, donating recycling bins, and raising awareness among young Nigerians about environmental conservation. According to the head of Union Bank, quoted by a report, “these efforts are part of the bank's larger UnionCares platform, which leads impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives across Nigeria.
