A project called “GENIE” was launched on World Youth Skills Day at the Palais de la Culture in Treichville. This project will be financed to the tune of 5.5 billion CFA francs by the Ivorian government

.

The GENIE project intends to equip thousands of young Ivorians with new skills in artificial intelligence (AI), smart agriculture, smart agriculture, cloud computing, cloud computing, climate change and entrepreneurship. This project responds to the urgency of sustainable employment and ecological transition. According to the Minister for Youth Promotion, Professional Integration and Civic Service, Mamadou Touré, this is a concrete response to current socio-economic challenges, aimed at training young people ready to integrate into a digital and green economy. The implementation of the project will be based on a solid partnership with public structures, private companies, incubators and higher education institutions. Also, online modules will also make it possible to reach young people in the most remote areas of the country.

With a substantial budget, the GENIE project will target strategic training such as data analysis, cybersecurity or even cloud computing. This digital orientation is part of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the National Development Plan 2026—2030, which provide for massive investments in digital technology and the post office. The GENIE project complements other initiatives already under way, such as the Smart Africa Digital Academy (SADA) and the National Digital Academy
