The increase in Lafarge Africa's net profit is driven by a construction boom in Nigeria and a more stable exchange rate, according to information reported by Premium Times. Indeed, cement production recorded an after-tax profit of NGN 132.7 billion ($87 million), compared to NGN 29.4 billion ($19 million) in the same period last year. Revenue grew by 70% year-on-year to NGN 268.6 billion ($175 million), supported by a 75% increase in revenue to NGN 517 billion ($338 million), as improved factory reliability boosted production volumes.
