The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) validated on Thursday, July 24, 2025, a new total disbursement of 82 billion CFA (146.7 million dollars) in favor of Cameroon, in the framework of the eighth review of agreements under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and the Extended Credit Mechanism (MEDC) and The third review of the agreement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (FRD)

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today completed the eighth reviews of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and Extended Credit Mechanism (EFC) agreements in favor of Cameroon. The completion of the reviews of the FEC and MEDC agreements paves the way for an immediate disbursement of SDR 55.2 million (approximately $75.7 million), bringing total disbursements under the agreements (to SDR 593.4 million ($793.8 million)). The Board also completed the third review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RDF) agreement. The completion of this review resulted in the provision of 51.75 million SDR ($71 million), with disbursements to date totalling 120.75 million SDR ($162.3 million

).

In completing the eighth reviews of the FEC-MEDC program, the Board of Directors also approved, on the basis of the corrective measures, the authorities' request for exemptions for non-compliance with the achievement criteria relating to the floor of the primary fiscal balance excluding oil at the end of December 2024 and the ceiling of international financing Net excess of the central government excluding IMF financing at the end of December 2024, as well as the continuing ceilings of cash advances without budgetary allocation due to the minor nature of the gap

The three-year FEC and MEDC agreements in favor of Cameroon were initially approved by the IMF Executive Board for a total amount of 483 million SDR (689.5 million dollars (689.5 million dollars, or 175% of the quota) in July 2021. A 12-month extension of these agreements was approved in December 2023 to give authorities more time to implement policies and reforms, and access to resources was increased by 110.4 million SDR ($145.4 million, or 40% of the quota). The 18-month FRD agreement was approved by the board of directors in January 2024 for an amount of 138 million SDR ($181.7 million, or 50% of the

quota).
