On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the President of Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara announced an increase in the exceptional end-of-year bonus paid to civil servants and retirees, as part of efforts to improve household purchasing power.

On the eve of Independence Day, the Ivorian Head of State announced through a message to the nation an increase in the exceptional end-of-year bonus paid to civil servants and retirees. This bonus would increase, according to him, from one third to two thirds of the basic monthly index salary for civil servants, beginning in January 2026. For retirees, this revaluation will take place as early as September 2025 and will concern the basic monthly pension. This measure is part of a set of social actions undertaken by the government to ease the pressure on the purchasing power of the population, the leader recalled. These actions include controlling the prices of consumer products, increasing wages, and strengthening social safety nets for the most vulnerable populations

.

According to Alassane Ouattara, “development is a daily reality, and it is shared by a growing number of our citizens throughout the country”.
