In an effort to accelerate economic activity and support entrepreneurs who have faced limited access to capital, Montenegro is preparing to create a 10 million euro credit guarantee fund. The information was reported by the RTCG television channel on 8 August

The Government of Montenegro adopted the Credit Guarantee Fund Act at the end of July, providing a solid legal basis for the launch of the fund. This fund is intended for entrepreneurs, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and agricultural producers, groups that have traditionally found it difficult to obtain bank loans. The fund aims to improve the resilience of the private sector, strengthen national competitiveness and stimulate job creation.

According to economic analyst Mirza Muleskovic, the initiative is expected to particularly benefit women, young entrepreneurs and beginners in sectors such as tourism, agriculture and the processing industry. According to him, “well-designed credit lines and effective policy management are essential for selecting the most promising projects and stimulating every segment of Montenegro's economy.”
