At the end of its 364-day, 3, 5 and 7-year auction of comparable treasury bonds and bonds, the Burkinabe government obtained the sum of 43.999 billion CFA francs from investors in the UEMOA financial market. It was Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in order to meet the financing of its budget.

The amount put up for auction was 40 billion FCFA. In return, the investors offered the issuer 80.606 billion FCFA. This gives a coverage rate of 201.52% for the amount put up for auction.

The amount of bids selected by the State of Burkina is 43.999 billion FCFA and that rejected at 36.607 billion. This corresponds to an absorption rate of 54.59%

Investors whose submissions were selected will end up with a weighted average return of 8.14% for good bonds, 8.38% for 3-year bonds, 8.38% for 3-year bonds, 7.64% for 5-year bonds, 7.64% for 5-year bonds and 7.81% for 7-year bonds.

The repayment of vouchers issued will be made on the first business day following the due date set on August 11, 2026. On the other hand, interest will be paid in advance and deducted from the nominal value of these vouchers

Bonds will be repaid on the first business day following the due date set on August 13, 2028 for 3-year bonds, August 13, 20230 for 5-year bonds and August 13, 2032 for 7-year bonds.
