The document submitted on Tuesday by the president of ARSE, Dr. Jean-Baptiste Ky, shows that in terms of production, the national share represents 51% of total energy (i.e. 1,411,376,568 kWh), coming from SONABEL and independent producers
.Private production is growing significantly, from 100,413 MWh in 2023 to 227,370 MWh in 2024, or +126.43%. In the national energy mix, thermal energy is in the lead with 36% of production, followed by solar (11.5%) and hydroelectric (3.5%
).The same document notes that 2024 saw the installation of solar devices with a total capacity of 161 MWp, in terms of production infrastructures.
With regard to transport, two major lines have been built: Pâ-Diébougou (225 kV) and Zano-Ouaga-Bomboré (132 kV). In terms of distribution, the year saw the construction of 5,811 High Voltage A (HTA) substations, 16,452 km of Low Voltage A (BTA) lines and 8,486 km of
HTA lines.With regard to regulation, ARSE has strengthened pricing tools, set up new control mechanisms, developed standard contracts and increased consultations with actors in the sector. The physical completion rate of activities is 84%, for a financial implementation rate of 87%.
