Previously considered the prime contractor for the Félix Houphouët Boigny Airport extension project in Abidjan (AERIA), China Railway could be disillusioned while the French Bouygues Group positions.

The abidjan airport extension file has not yet rendered its final verdict if we stick to the twists and turns of recent weeks. In its October 12 edition, Africa Intelligence magazine reveals that the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara has finally awarded the contract for this contract to the Bouygues group. This information was confirmed by other sources close to the case.

Estimated at nearly 42 billion FCFA, the extension work  of the airport, which will essentially  consist of the construction of modern infrastructure worthy of the framework of the aerocity program should last 12 months.

 

This program covers an area of 3700 ha concerns three components including the extension of the aircraft parking area accompanied by the creation of parking positions for additional aircraft;  the construction of a business aviation terminal (FBO)  and  the increase in the capacity of reception of the terminal to bring it to  five million in 2022 against two million previously.
