The official launch of the lease census operation related to the property income tax in the city of Ouagadougou took place on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. On the occasion, the Regional Directorate of Taxes of the Centre (DRIC) stated that its objective is to identify all persons taxable under this regime in order to ensure legal fairness of the tax and increase the tax base.

President the official ceremony, Moumouni Lougué, Director General of Taxes suggested that the tax services work on the file base and this file must be constantly updated. And since the tax population is mobile, it cannot be the same as it was a decade ago.

The fact of resuming this operation, initiated in the past, makes it possible to update the file, to be able to capture new taxpayers, put them under lease contracts and ultimately increase the tax base and therefore improve the tax.

The regional director of taxes of the Center, Ahmed Nombré indicated that the operation should eventually make it possible to have an exhaustive and updated file of landlords and tenants in the Central Directorates of Taxes (DCI), to have regular lease contracts drawn up for all the tenants identified and to renew the contracts Expired.

The census operation will take place over the period from 23 March to 13 May 2021. Ahmed Nombré shows that the conduct of the operation on the ground will be by axis and by lot. Concretely, it is a question of considering a lot and identifying and listing landlords and tenants.
