The intermediate cocoa marketing year has been launched because the main campaign ends this Thursday. The price per kg of the bean is set at 750 FCFA.

The main season ended and the kg of cocoa was bought towards the end of this season between 1050 and 1060 FCFA. The Coffee-Cocoa Council has just unveiled the field-edge price per kilogram of cocoa for the intermediate season. It fell by 250 FCFA compared to that of the main campaign.
"Today is March 31. We have just finished the main campaign. The price set for the interim campaign is 750 kg per kilogram," said Director General Yves Brahima Koné.
"Those who continue to make new plantations, we will be forced to cut them. These plantations will not fit into the current system. We know the age of the plantations. All those who will create new plantations we will not take them into account," he warned, inviting planters to stop creating new plantations to limit the country's production.
Finally, he reassures that the council will ensure the sale of all cocoa stocks.
