As part of the virtual 2021 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, which are being held from April 5 to 11, 2021, the Malian Minister of Economy and Finance, Alousséni Sanou, met by videoconference with the World Bank country team dedicated to the Republic of Mali, this Tuesday, April 6.

During the discussions, Soukeina Kane, Director of World Bank Operations in Mali and her team presented to the Minister the situation of the Bank's project portfolio in Mali, their intervention strategies and the challenges to be met for a better implementation of project-programs in line with the expectations and priorities of the Malian government as set out in the Government Action Plan.

The portfolio includes 30 active projects valued at 1.69 billion USD (938.87 billion FCFA), 21 national projects of 1.27 billion USD and 9 regional projects of 0.42 billion USD with an average size of projects of 60.5 million US dollars (33.61 billion FCFA), an average duration of 4.1 years and a disbursement ratio of 16.9% for national projects and 7.3% for regional projects, i.e. a cumulative amount disbursed of 770 million USD (388.879 billion FCFA).
