The Economic Community of West African States (EBID) Investment and Development Bank finances Guinea's poultry companies for the production of 25 million chickens per year.

Financial contributions from the Investment and Development Bank of the Economic Community of West African States should serve Guinean poultry business associations as part of the Conakry authorities' efforts to promote agropastoral activities.
President Alpha Condé announced at the last Council of Ministers that this EBID agreement will eventually allow Guinea to eventually produce 25 million chickens per year, thus filling the local meat market.
 In Guinea, livestock is the second largest activity in the rural world after agriculture and concerns about 210,000 families, or 30% of the rural population, according to statistics from the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Production.
