The WAEMU Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) organized last Saturday in Abidjan the 2nd edition of the BRVM Awards. The awards went to the 12 best players in the regional financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) including three special awards and an honorary award.

The second edition of the BRVM Awards aimed to reward the most deserving market players, listed companies, issuers of approved intervening bonds, institutional investors, SMI-SMEs. For the Togolese Edoh Kossi Amenounve, Director General of the BRVM, the BRVM Awards placed on the theme "sustainable finance", reward all the actors who undeniably contribute to the development, influence and notoriety of the regional market.

For this second edition, eight companies were awarded this award of excellence in different categories, including Sonatel in the best listed company category, Société Générale capital securities West Africa, Best Management and Intermediation Company (SGI) while the award for Best UCITS Management Company (SGO) was won by SOAGA.
The best bond issuer returned to the Public Treasury of Burkina Faso, the best BTCC to Société Générale Côte d'Ivoire conservatives, the best SME of the Elite Program to Neurotech SA, the best institutional investor to the IPS National Social Security Fund (IPS-CNPS) and the prize for the best financial media awarded to Financial Afrik.

In addition to regional financial market players, special BRVM awards were awarded to the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, the Minister of Economy and Finance of Benin, Romuald Wadagni and the President of the Regional Council for Public Savings and Financial Markets (CREPMF), Mamadou Ndiagne.
A posthumous honorary prize was also awarded to the late Hamed Bakayoko, former Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire who, during his lifetime, had accepted the sponsorship of this ceremony. In the coming years, the BRVM intends to become more involved in the promotion of new products on the regional financial market: Green Bonds, Diaspora Bonds, Social Bonds...
