The Regional Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for West and Central Africa, Aliou Maïga, was received in audience by the Prime Minister, Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré on Thursday April 29, 2021, in Ouagadougou. The objective of the meeting is to strengthen the partnership with Burkina Faso.

The IFC, a member of the World Bank group, supports Burkina Faso in several sectors of the economy, in particular the cotton sector, financing of SMEs, infrastructure and energy. "We have come to express our continued support, our willingness and availability to work with the government as part of the development of its development framework and to see how we plan our partnership to go from what we have done through the past and today on a scale that is in line with the government's new ambitions," said Aliou Maïga, at the end of his face-to-face meeting with the head of the Burkinabè government.

According to him, the financial institution will continue to provide support and advice to the government in the context of improving the business climate, the Doing business program where the performance of the country of Upright Men seems to have declined.
