A record purchase price of seed cotton of around 270 CFA per kilogram has been announced for the 2021-2022 season in Burkina Faso. For the past campaign, Bambou Bihoun indicates that the balance sheet is positive. " Notwithstanding the double security and health crisis, good results have been achieved by producers with the key, more than 492 thousand tons of seed cotton produced nationally. This is an increase of 7% compared to the 2019-2020 season, which recorded a national production of around 460,114 tons ," he said.

Remerciating the government for its support, he invites each producer to massively plant cotton in order to change his social and economic situation in the coming months. " We are very proud and grateful to the government which has provided a considerable subsidy... At the end of April, I have already ploughed 150 hectares. This first passage of tractors prepares the fields to receive the final ploughing after a heavy rain, followed by sowing... For the 2021-2022 season, I plan to plant 200 hectares of cotton ," he said. To face this challenge, the various trading partners work tirelessly to satisfy the demands of producers on time, in quantity and quality.
