The activities of the Think Tank "A New Road" will soon start. Initially scheduled for April 21, the think tank dedicated to African debts and economies, is launching its work this May 6, during a virtual ceremony from Abidjan.

A new Round-Table on African Debts was born to take part in the debate with an ambitious objective: “to impose a new look on the continent, its economies and their central role on an international scale”. The 24 members of this laboratory of ideas wishing to deconstruct preconceived ideas have made "the commitment to lead a collective and participative reflection in resonance and in coherence with the work currently carried out on the sustainability of African debts and, more generally, the financing of these savings.
These African experts, including Romuald Wadagni, Minister of Economy and Finance of Benin, Sandra Ablamba Johnson, Minister Secretary General of the Togolese Presidency, Stanislas Zeze, Chairman and CEO of Bloomfield Investment Corporation, Kossi Edoh Amenounve, CEO of the BRVM and Kako Nubukpo, Commissioner for WAEMU, share the conviction that the issue of African public debts should be handled with respect for the sovereignty of African States and that this should be strengthened.
Indeed, for this group of African experts, the idea is to mobilize so that "the commercial financing conditions applied to African States are consistent with those practiced (with equivalent savings and risk profiles) in other regions of the world ". "A new ROAD", created on the initiative of Nicolas Jean, partner and member of the executive committee of the law firm Gide, and of the independent consulting firm for States, Global Sovereign Advisory (GSA), aims to be an entity non-profit and apolitical. After the round table in Abidjan, a summit on the financing of African economies is to take place on May 18 in Paris (France).
