“Following the historic success” of the round table in Paris on the mobilization of funding for integration projects, 3 personalities from the Cémac zone were decorated on July 20 in Brazzaville. Among others, the Minister of Economy, Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, the President of the Central African States Development Bank (BDEAC), Fortunato Ofa Mbo Chama, Roland Marc Lontchi Tchoffo, Director of Statistics at the CEMAC Commission and Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga Director of Operations of BDEAC.

The Minister of Economy, Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, and several other leaders of community institutions received the medals of Officer in the Order of Valor of Cameroon. These Officer's medals were exceptionally awarded to the President of the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), Fortunato Ofa Mbo Chama and to the Permanent Secretary of the Economic and Financial Reform Program of the sub-region ( PREF-CEMAC), Michel-Cyr Djina Wembou, as well as the Congolese Minister of Economy, Planning, Statistics and Regional Integration. They received these distinctions from the hands of the Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, who holds the rotating presidency of the conference of heads of state of the CEMAC.

Three other officials of the CEMAC institution were also decorated in the order of valor of Cameroon to the rank of Knight: Roland Marc Lontchi Tchoffo, director of statistics at the CEMAC commission; Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga, director of operations of BDEAC; and Michel Eric Amanda, in charge of programs and communication of PREF-CEMAC. It should be noted that out of the twelve projects presented in Paris, two are in the start-up phase, in particular the Cameroon-Chad electrical network interconnection project and the construction project of the Congo-Cameroon Inter-State University. Funding for the first has already been secured by the AfDB, according to Michel-Cyr Djina Wembou, while Congo and Cameroon are working to equip the polytechnic university.
